Live Music on the Isle of Wight 2015
Isle of Wight Blog by Ben Farrelly
The music scene on the Isle of Wight has always brought significant pride to the locals, as well as the famed festivals that have stacked up the big names of rock, folk and pop over the years, the local talent has also made its impact. From the various tiny fishermen’s pubs to the hotels, theatres, parks, venues and fields during the summer months, it is almost impossible to not stumble across some form of ear candy of some type.
Back in the day the fishermen would sing their shanties in the local pubs next to an open fire with a local ale perched temptingly in front of them, this is a tradition that we can happily say has not gone away. On the flipside of that coin, huge rock stars such as The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, The Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam and many, many more played to thousands upon thousands of people at the Isle of Wight Music Festival.
Here are some notable bands from the island.
